No, Outrider Gas Transports (OGT) does not bid on proposals. However, as a certified minority-owned company, OGT is willing to collaborate with RFP teams to establish mutually agreed-upon terms and conditions.

What kind of composite cylinders does Outrider Gas Transports use?

Outrider Gas Transports uses Type III composite cylinders. These cylinders have a 6061 aluminum liner, similar to those used in standard medical and industrial aluminum cylinders. The liner is fully wrapped with lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber.

What are the types of composite cylinders?

There are four types of composite cylinders:

  • Type I: Traditional seamless steel tube cylinder.

  • Type II: Traditional seamless steel cylinder reinforced with a hoop wrap of carbon fiber.

  • Type III: Metal liner (usually aluminum) with a full composite fiber overwrap (can be carbon fiber or fiberglass).

  • Type IV: Plastic liner with a full composite overwrap.

What maintenance is required for Type III composite cylinders?

Type III composite cylinders require minimal maintenance. They avoid the need for periodic sandblasting and painting. However, the DOT mandates hydrostatic retesting every five years.

Are Type III cylinders DOT approved?

Yes, Type III cylinders are manufactured under a DOT and TC special permit and are approved for use in the USA and Canada.

What gases can Outrider Gas Transports’s Type III cylinders haul?

The Type III cylinders can transport Helium, H2, Argon, NG, and Breathing Air.

How many transports has Outrider Gas Transports manufactured?

What is the life expectancy of a composite cylinder?

The DOT grants a 15-year life for composite cylinders, with possible five-year extensions based on periodic testing of cylinders pulled from the field at 10 and 13 years.

What are the available options and add-ons for your trailers?

  • Battery Packages: Available for LED light usage and monitoring systems. Options for rechargeable and solar battery sets are offered.

  • Electric Hitch Package: Available for an additional $800.

  • Hitches: Both ball and pintle hitches are available.

Do you supply monitoring devices for your trailers?

We allow customers to specify their preferred monitoring products (telemetry, GPS, etc.). We leave space for these systems and provide a battery package based on your needs.

Are there power requirements?

No, the Pro trailer does not require power to operate.

Do you supply spare parts/packages for LDCs to have on hand?

Yes, we keep tank head valve re-kits on hand. Tubing and fittings can be purchased from a Parker distributor.

Does your regulation panel have redundancy available?

Yes, our Dual Cut Modular Regulation Panel has built-in redundancy with multiple regulators and relief systems.

What are the regulator specifications and options on Outrider’s regulation panel?

The Dual Cut Modular Regulation panel includes:

  • 3 Fisher 1301 Gs

  • 2 627s regulators

  • 1 Mercer 1400 relief

  • 1 Fisher 289H relief The panel’s modular design allows easy access and movement between trailers.

What is the cost for training?

In-person half-day training is available for $6,000. This covers trailer application use, maintenance, codes and standards, and emergency safety procedures.

Can the Pro be used to fill NGVs in emergency applications?

Yes, it is possible to cascade off our products using a WEH TZ21 CNG Emergency Fuel set hose. We can provide contact information for WEH products.

Is the Pro trailer towable by a one-ton or smaller vehicle?

Yes, the Pro trailer, weighing 11,593 lbs. and with a capacity of 52,000 scf of natural gas, is towable by a one-ton pickup.

Do I need a hazmat endorsement to pull the Pro trailer?

Yes, a hazmat endorsement is required for drivers.

Do any of your products require shore power for use?

No, shore power is not required.

Does your trailer have separate ports for discharge and fueling?

Yes, the Outrider Pro comes with both side access and a rear filling panel.

Can your trailer be locked during use or overnight applications?

Yes, our trailers feature a Secure, Lock, and Leave system with a roller-guided hose door to prevent tampering.

Does your trailer come with an emergency shut-off device?

Yes.

Does your trailer come with a fire extinguisher?

Yes, a 20 lb. fire extinguisher is included.

What size tires are on your trailer?

Our trailers are equipped with 14-ply tires, suitable for various terrains, and include a spare tire.

Can you vent the trailer and the hose connection?

Yes, you should always vent the hose connection before disconnecting.

Can the Pro trailer be used in Canada?

Yes, Outrider trailers meet all Canadian certifications. Please specify the province for specific standards.

Can I buy a pod without the trailer for general storage?

No, the DOT special permit requires the cylinders to be used for over-the-road bulk gas transport only.

Do Outrider Gas Transports trailers come with anti-sway mechanisms?

Our trailers have a low center of gravity to prevent rollovers. Anti-sway mechanisms are not required due to the trailer’s design.
